Given Arlene's depth of knowledge and passion for dance and reading to her children when they were young it was only natural for her to write her series of children's dance adventure books Alana Dancing Star. The stories follow dance-mad Alana as she battles the hardship of being poor and whilst still trying to follow her dreams. As she struggles to learn different genres of dance she finds herself transported to mysterious lands around the world.
Samba Spectacular, LA Moves, Viennese Waltz, Bollywood Dreams, Stage Sensation and Twilight Tango are all available from major bookstores. In 2011, Viennese Waltz was selected for Richard and Judy’s Summer Children’s Reading List.

Dance to the Musicals came about as Arlene wanted people to be able to enjoy the fun of dance as a path to fitness. The book comes with a DVD and provides, tips and easy to follow step by step moves for dance routines from popular shows Mamma Mia, Flashdance, Fame, Footloose, We Will Rock You, Grease, Joseph, Hairspray, Saturday Night Fever and Dirty Dancing. Each routine is also intruduced by Arlene giving inside stories on the shows they're from.

In addition to writing her books, Arlene’s fun and friendly tone has seen her write regular columns for The Sun, Woman’s Own and Yours Magazine as well guest columns and blogs for publications such as Good Housekeeping, Netmums and The Huffington Post.
